About:

Betsy Abente has over 15 years of global health program management/research administration with a focus on infectious diseases. Prior to joining Washington University, she worked at several global health non-profits in Washington DC, backstopping global health programs across sub-Saharan Africa. Betsy’s passion for global health stems from her time as a Peace Corps volunteer in Kazakhstan, where she initiated an HIV peer education program and worked with local officials to include health programming within school curriculums. She received her Master’s degree in Public Health from Tulane University, with a focus on international health
