About:

Prof KH Martin Kollmann has worked for 3 years from in rural hospitals in Ethiopia as general physician before completing his training in Ophthalmology (Munich).

A consultant ophthalmologist and Associate Professor at the University Nairobi, he trained ophthalmologists and mid-level eye health cadres from 1994 – 2011

He has served CBMI as Senior Advisor for NTDs from 2011 – 2020.

He has been closely involved in research and training at the University of Nairobi, CBMI and other networks.

He holds degrees in Ophthalmology, Tropical Medicine and Medical Parasitology, and Health Care Management.

He has served in various leadership functions at the International Coalition for Trachoma Control (ICTC) and the NGO NTD Network (NNN) cross-cutting group on Disease Management, Disability and Inclusion (DMDI), and is a member of various NNN groups including Onchocerciasis, Lymphatic Filariasis, One Health and Sustainability.

He is a co-founder of and currently serves as Senior Advisor to the German Network against NTDs (DNTDs).
